How it works.

  • Apply, or nominate.For yourself, or for a founder who would never put their own name forward.
  • Sixty seconds.On a phone. No script, no lighting. If you are nominating, sixty seconds on why them.
  • One thing.Something about starting the company that has never been put on the internet.

Erin watches every entry and picks the founder.

If you nominate someone, we write back to you, not to them. We do not contact them until you tell us to.

Everyone who enters gets a read.

We watch every entry ourselves, and every one gets a written read back. Four parts, in this order.

  • What we heard.The part of the story a stranger would remember, said back to you.
  • What we would shoot.The room, the day, and the two or three things worth filming.
  • Which look.Cinema, Kinetic or Field, and why that one.
  • What it costs.One number, what it covers, and what it does not.

Seven boxes if you are applying. Eight if you are nominating. We need five of them: your name, your company, the thing, the link, and your email. If you are nominating, their name too. The rest are optional. Only one takes any thinking, and it is the same one either way.

One or two sentences. Why this founder, and why now.

One or two sentences is plenty. The thing you would say at the end of a long night, not the line on the about page.

Put it anywhere that makes a link. Google Drive, Dropbox, an unlisted YouTube. We only need to be able to press play.
