The brief.

A recap of a Cabinet Health event on Santa Monica Boulevard.

The artist Kellie Gillespie showed a sculpture made from medicine bottle waste.

Transcript.

Hey, I'm with Cabinet Health. We're on Santa Monica Boulevard for a Cabinet event with our artist, presenting an amazing sculpture made entirely of plastic waste from medicine bottles. Come check it out.

For the piece we're looking at, she had pill bottles sent to her from all over the country, using social media to say, I'm collecting these pill bottles.

We had boxes coming from everywhere that we were storing at home, and at that time she didn't even know what she was going to do with them. But the thought of throwing plastic into the earth was not something she was going to let happen.

A parallel between the work I'm doing and what Cabinet is trying to do is the idea of changing perception. Taking something that already has a solidified narrative and redefining it in a way people can understand and want to interact with.

I think Cabinet is doing a really amazing job because they care about what they're doing.

I love the fact that you can just refill it and stop throwing those bottles away.
